Like-for-like sales at The Perfume Shop grew 4.5% during the four weeks to December 24, 2011 with the specialist fragrance retailing announcing a massive 42% increase in its website sales during the period. Total sales across the 243 store group were up 16% and over 2.4 million bottles of perfume were sold.

The Perfume Shop added 43 shops (including 32 shop-in-shops at Superdrug) throughout the UK and Ireland during 2011 and this expansion backed by peak-time television advertising during the run-up to Christmas, the recent launch of its Rewards Club loyalty card, the professionalism of its staff and its value-proposition, all contributed to the retailer’s successful end-of-year trading.

The Perfume Shop’s success is also attributable to what it describes as its “relentless focus on creating a compelling and seasonally relevant product offer and delivering a consistently high standard of customer service”.

Jo Walker, Managing Director, The Perfume Shop says: “These are really exciting times for the business and we are delighted to be going from strength to strength. Our people will always be at the heart of what we do and we know that their passion and commitment will enable us to deliver our goals for the year ahead.”
