Givaudan has launched iPerfumer2, an updated version of its successful fragrance recommendation app which is available for free download via iPhone. Its timely release will, it is hoped, help boost generic fragrance sales over the Christmas period.

The fragrance industry is increasingly challenged to find new ways to communicate to the next generation of customers and so, in response to this, in 2010 Givaudan created a simple to use but high-tech format pocket guide to the multitude of fragrances on the market. The app makes it easy for gadget-loving younger people to find the perfumes that most appeal to them and their friends and family.

Improved usability and search functions are among a number of new features on iPerfumer2 facilitating the easy exploration of fragrances on the market. Perfumes can be searched and found by brand, fragrance family or note. Users can also quickly access the list of most recent launches or view the fragrances most highly rated by the iPerfumer community.

The new version of iPerfumer also includes a multiple profile facility, so users can speedily update their own personal preferences and keep a record of their friends and relatives’ favourite fragrances.
