Two Miles For Two Lives
Benefit Cosmetics is supporting Refuge, the national domestic violence charity, with the first-ever ‘Mascarathon’ or a fund-raising fun-run with makeup from Edinburgh to London.
Don’t worry though, you won’t have to run all the way! In fact Benefit is asking volunteers to run just two miles because every week in the UK two women die as a result of domestic violence and each mile completed will symbolise a life lost.
A very serious cause but this being organised by Benefit means it will be a lot of fun too with make-up stations and product sample giveaways along the route. A mascara baton will be passed from runner to runner every two miles along the way.
It all starts on June 15th in Edinburgh and takes in Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Oxford before finishing on June 29th in London.
TV star Caroline Flack is fronting the campaign and other celebrity runners so far include Donna Air and Zoe Salmon.

Diamond Lips Raffle for Look Good...Feel Better
Heidi Bannister of Girls Survival (girlssurvival.com) and Regional Co-ordinator for Look Good Feel Better, the beauty industry’s cancer charity, is hoping that she, together with her fellow volunteers working for the charity, will raise £20,000 for the cause through a nationwide raffle. The first prize is a stunning £12,500 diamond bangle (pictured).
Look Good...Feel Better’s regional co-ordinators and workshop organisers are all involved with selling the tickets. The winners will be announced at the Diamond Ball to be held on Saturday 2nd June 2012, as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Tickets are £1.00 each and the prizes are:
1st Prize: 4.42 carat Diamond Bangle valued at £12,500
2nd Prizes: 25 Diamante Champagne Glass Charms
3rd Prizes: 50 Lipstick charms
4th Prizes: 100 Crushed Diamond Chocolate Bars

Look Good...Feel Better, is the beauty and fragrance industry’s cancer support charity that helps women manage the visible side effects of cancer treatment.
After 16 years in the UK, Look Good...Feel Better now runs its free service through 62 locations in the UK and 23 countries worldwide.
Supported by 40 member companies of The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Foundation help finance the UK arm of the charity and provide most of the 1800 consultants who volunteer to take part in the free makeup workshops which are held in 62 medical centres and hospitals throughout the UK. The ultimate aim for LGFB is to have the ability to reach out to every woman diagnosed with cancer.
Product donations are fundamental to the success of the enterprise and during 2011, around 20 leading beauty companies donated over 150,000 products to thousands of women who attended one of the hundreds of LGFB workshops held nationwide. Each patient received a gift bag containing 17 full-sized products.
