In March 2013 Benefit will introduce World Famous Neutrals – Most Glamorous, Easiest and Sexiest Eye Shadow Kits, to sit with the brand's Instant Beauty Complexion and Lip & Cheek Kits. These kits make Benefit the 'go to' beauty brand for step by steps, tips and tricks and lessons for any girl to be able to create her perfect look in an instant, whilst enhancing her natural beauty. 

Mintel has launched a new consumer research report series examining the Brazilian consumer market.The new series combines both primary consumer research and detailed market analysis and data. The issue led reports - including beauty, personal care and retail - were developed by a locally based team of analysts in São Paulo, Brazil. 

Future Pink Media and Events has acquired subscription beauty brand Lux Box - the skincare, cosmetics and haircare sampling business.

Kelly Brooks has launched her first makeup range through New Look. The collection will be available in selected stores and online from the beginning of November with prices starting from £2.99

Harvey Nichols BeautyMart store opens at Liverpool One shopping centre tomorrow (November 7). The three-storey outlet features a hair salon, brow bar, a fragrance library and spa services.

An advertisement for Diorshow New Look Mascara starring Natalie Portman, has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority after a complaint reportedly received from a rival cosmetic firm. The digital image showing Natalie Portman’s natural lashes applied with the Christian Dior product had been retouched during production and in its ruling the ASA said that it "had not seen sufficient evidence to show that the post-production retouching on Natalie Portman's lashes in the ad did not exaggerate the likely effects of the product". Laura Mercier has launched a stunning limited edition version of its Signature Brush Collection. Housed in an opulent carrying case, ten of Laura's essential brushes are featured.

The White Company has launched its first own-brand fragrances: Blanc and Noir. Body and Hand creams, bath oils and scented candles are also available in both fragrances.

Burberry has confirmed that it will directly operate its fragrance and beauty business as its fifth product division alongside accessories and women's, men's and children's apparel, when its license agreement with Interparfums comes to an end on March 31, 2013. Angela Ahrendts, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Directly operating fragrance and beauty is in line with our strategy of taking greater control over our brand. There are significant opportunities to accelerate the growth of this business over time, leveraging our infrastructure and that of existing key suppliers and distributors."

In her most recent blog Imogen Matthews has welcomed the approach to prestige beauty retailing as exemplified by BeautyMart, M&S Your Beauty and Selfridges' Beauty Workshop. "For too long, premium retailers have focused on the exclusive in-store experience, but that’s not what most consumers want," she says as this leads to high-pressure selling.
